I am sure you will share us in our concerns about the worsening public health warnings about COVID- 19. As such we are putting in place measures to maintain the safety of all boys and staff at the school.
Our intention is that boarding provision will be kept open for as long as possible. However, given the nature of our shared accommodation and current guidance on ‘social distancing’ it may be necessary that boarding provision will close or partially close for the health of boys and staff at a later stage. A decision regarding this is anticipated on Friday 20th March 2020.
The current planning is to maintain as many boarders as possible with priority being given to those who would not be able to travel to school as a day boy for the short term. Local authorities are being contacted to discuss the possibility of some boarders being transported each day.
Boarders that have been self-isolating for 7 days have now been asked to stay off for another 7, giving a total of 14 days off (as advised by the government).
As a boarding provision we are ensuring that all pupils personal hygiene has been closely monitored with extra handwashing and hand sanitizer being readily available for pupils and staff.
Boys are not taking part in any activities external to the school in the evenings and are not taking part in activities that require them to be in close contact.
Thank you for your co-operation at this time, I appreciate that this is a difficult situation and we are seeking to support Parents/ Carers as much as possible during this time.
If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact me, all updates will be via the schools website.
